This Wednesday, the boys' varsity basketball team competed against Mercersburg Academy in the performance gymnasium in our new Turner Athletic Center. This was not an easy game: the Saints fell short by 10 points at the end, with a final score of 53-63. Still, at various moments throughout the game, our Saints caught up with the opposing team, which comprised some very tall and imposing players. The Saints’ starting line-up included Jayden Yates (5th form), Christian Gladchuk (6th form), Xavier Colbert (5th form), Khari Yates (3rd form), and Marcello Anderson (4th form). These athletes, along with the rest of the team, played valiantly and with intent throughout. Even though they mostly trailed, they did not admit defeat and competed hard until the very end, maintaining their dignity. This resilience exemplifies the Saints’ hard work and determination. It is evident that this loss is nothing but a temporary setback in an otherwise certain-to-be successful season for our Saints.
