MAC Individual for The Saints Wrestling

The Saint James Wrestling team had an outstanding showing at the MAC Individual Championships this past weekend! Their performance was nothing short of incredible, with multiple wrestlers making their mark across various weight classes. The team really proved their strength, determination, and skill as they brought home an impressive number of victories. 

Out of the individual wrestlers, five clinched first place in their respective weight classes, earning the honor All-MAC. This is a huge achievement, and a testament to the hard work they've put in all season. Among the first-place winners were Jorge Garrido Urias (4th form), Mikey Holmes (5th form), Chase Pugh (5th form), Gabe Robinson (6th form), and Derek Owumi (6th form). A huge congratulations to each of them! 

Additionally, there were multiple wrestlers who placed in the top three, showcasing the depth of talent on the team. Jacob Version (5th form) earned second place, as did Gonzalo Crespo (4th form), Liam Lunderville (4th form), Anthony Pierce (5th form), Ryan Schwartzbeck (4th form), and Kash Kuzmiak (3rd form). Brodie Burdette (5th form) also made waves by being selected for the All-MAC at-large spot and placed second in his weight class. 

Performances from Aiden Murphy (3rd form), who earned third place, and Peter Zaccack (5th form), who also secured third, further highlight the strength and commitment of the team as a whole. These individual successes not only reflect the hard work of the athletes but also the coaching and support that have been integral to the team's rise to the top. 

Altogether, with fourteen wrestlers placing in the top three, Saint James Wrestling has proven itself a force to be reckoned with. The team’s performance at the championships is a clear indication of the members’ potential, and we can’t wait to see what they'll do next. Six people  qualified for the MAC Championship. Those wrestlers will represent the Saints this coming Wednesday. They are Jorge Garrido Urias (113 pounds), Mikey Holmes (126 pounds), Chase Pugh (132 pounds), Brodie Burdette (144 pounds), Gabe Robinson (165 pounds), and Derek Owumi (215 pounds). Congratulations to all the wrestlers! You’ve all earned it!
